METALS FLASHING.
Metal flashing is an extremely important component of a deck, walkway, stairs, sunroof etc. The metal flashing help protecting rain from getting behind a house or a building sidding or stucco. GWC-WATERPROOFING. Use 26-gauge minimum. Bonderized or galvanized. Outside open perimeter flashing should be drip edge with a 1/4" kicker at the bottom. Inside perimeter should be diato flashing with a 2” leg on the deck. We use Z metal flashing under door or slider thresholds. All flashing needs to be fastened with 1” (min.) roofing nails, 4” OC and must be primed with Stainless Steel Primer. Flashing must be caulked and taped where it meets the plywood.
